The Simple Rules Of Skip Bin Hire

The Simple Rules Of Skip Bin Hire

4 Waste Removals are waste removal professionals

The skip bin hire process is as simple as choosing the size skip you want and the date and address you want it delivered to. However, there are a few simple rules that are often overlooked. And, it’s these simple rules that can end up getting you in trouble. Not in trouble with the law, but failing to follow the skip bin hire rules specified by the provider can result in additional fees. In some cases, it can result in your rubbish being tipped out and not taken at all.

At 4 Waste Removals, we want all our customers to have a positive experience when hiring a skip bin from us. We know our skip bins are amongst, if not the best, in the regions of Brisbane, and Logan. And, we know in this respect, you’ll have an excellent experience in choosing us. However, this can turn sour if our simple skip bin hire rules are not followed. Therefore, to ensure your positive experience, we would like to focus on our skip bin hire rules.

Rule #1: Follow Accepted Waste Types

The most important rule of skip bin hire is to abide by our accepted waste types. You must know what waste types are permitted and prohibited, and you must not stray from the list.

4 Waste Removals offers two types of skip bins; junk skip bins and garden skip bins. Each type of skip bin has a strict set of acceptable waste types, which are specified in our Terms and Conditions. Also listed in our Terms and Conditions are the prohibited waste types.

It is vital that you follow these lists.

Junk Skip Bins

Permitted waste includes white goods, furniture, toys and sports/gym equipment (check weight allowance per skip), sinks, baths, wet wall panels, mattresses (must be laid flat at the bottom of bin) and barbecues (gas bottle removed). Mixed waste (a combination of green & general waste) is also permitted in our junk skip bins.

Prohibited waste includes asbestos and carpet, carpet underlay, tyres, bulk rubber, rubber mats, gas bottles, glass/mirrors, fluorescent tubes, tins of paint, bricks and soil. Also not allowed in our junk skip bins are logs and branches over 10cm in diameter; bulk paper (Junk mail, newspapers), and bulk paper (Junk-mail, newspapers, office paper).

Garden Skip Bins

Permitted waste includes garden waste and recycled materials such as fruit and vegetable waste. As well as branches, tree limbs, twigs and tiny branches, and lawn clippings from the gardens. Logs must not exceed a diameter of 150mm. Strictly 100% green waste.

Prohibited waste is anything not mentioned above.

Please contact us if an item is not mentioned under our permitted or prohibited waste types. We would hate for you to run into any problems from making a simple assumption that a prohibited item is permitted.

Rule #2: Be Within Our Weight Allowance

The second most important rule of skip bin hire is to understand that there is a set weight allowance based on the amount of waste placed into our skip bins (per skip bin size). Therefore, we specify these weight allowances in our Terms and Conditions.

If you fill your skip bin with heavy items like gym equipment and the total weight surpasses the allowed weight for that skip bin size, you will be facing additional fees. The fee is $80 per additional $100.

We certainly don’t like hitting customers with fees for going over the weight allowance. However, for 4 Waste Removals to continue to offer an affordable skip bin hire service, we have to pass on the council’s weight fees to our customers.

Don’t hesitate to contact us before your skip bin hire if you have any weight concerns.

Rule #3: Abide to the Hire Term

The third rule of skip bin hire is to understand the term/length of the skip bin hire. Our skips bin hire is based on a strict 7-day hire term, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. Therefore, you have six full days to load your waste into the skip bin, ready for collection any time between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm on day seven.

You may only keep the skip bin on your property if you agree to pay the additional daily fee, which is $28 per extra day of hire.

Rule #4: Read the Fine Print

Like any hire operation, skip bin hire comes with various policies and disclaimers that you also need to be aware of. For instance, the following is our delivery disclaimer which applies to all skip bin deliveries.

We will make every effort to deliver the merchandise on the scheduled delivery date. However, if there is a delay for any reason, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Delivery and pick-up times might range from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please contact our office the morning of your scheduled service to receive delivery and collection times. You are not entitled to cancel any order or part order due to late delivery or pick-up.

If you have requested that we place the skip bin on your property, we will transport and remove it with care. However, we will not be held liable for any damage that may occur.

You’ll find all the fine print in our Terms and Conditions.

Rule #5: Enjoy Your Skip Bin Hire!

Providing you are aware of and follow Rules #1-4 above, we know you’re going to enjoy your 4 Waste Removals skip bin hire. Aside from our easy online hiring process, our skip bins themselves guarantee you’ll have a positive experience.

We know what people want from a skip bin; easy access for loading. As such, our skip bins are designed in such a way to grant this. For example, the rear swing door allows you to wheel in items using a trolley or wheelbarrow. What could be easier than that?

Conclusion

Skip bin hire is one of the most popular hire services of all, partly due to their convenience. However, skip bin hire can turn from what should be a positive experience into a negative experience fast if you don’t familiarise yourself with some simple skip bin hire rules.

At 4 Waste Removals, our skip bin hire rules are standard and simple to follow. Simply follow our accepted waste types, don’t go over the weight allowance, abide by our hire term and read the fine print. Once you’re au fait with our skip bin hire rules, you can rest assured your experience will be a positive one.
